The title of this blog comes from the first letters of each word of the saying:
“Any day above ground is a good one…”
My intent is that it should be a reminder of that sentiment, like an online gratitude journal. Hopefully, a place where other people (probably mostly women…I wonder…), who share some things in common with me, might find some psychological uplift each day.
I have been plagued by clinical (“endogenous”) depression, all my life.
I am FREE OF THIS now. Totally free. And HAVE BEEN so, for some YEARS now.
I intend to post here about depression, about things that help with depression – but NOT to make the blog ‘about’ depression. No – not at all!
The blog is the opposite: about NON-depression! About all the things there are, in our experiences, to delight us, to please us, to fascinate us, to help and support us,…in short: to make life worth living.
I know what it’s like to feel differently, and I hope I never have to go there again!
All praise to the inventors of Aropax !!! And champagne, of course…!
Not to mention GOD ( if you believe in God – which is more than I can do) or NATURE, for sunshine and fresh air and blue skies and dogs and cats and food and bright nail polish.
For whatever enables you to go on, each day… and for whatever enables you to feel pleasure.

Hi there. Looks pretty good to me.
I’m Nicky from One in a Million, in case it isn’t clear from the login. Just wanted to say thanks for your comments and your suggestions. It’s not my practice to respond to every comment, so please don’t be offended if I don’t engage in conversation very often. I had another blog that was very widely read and I figured the blog was my place to write, and the comments were for my readers. It was the only way for me to stay sane, and even though I have very few readers and commenters now, the habit has stayed with me. I squeeze the blog posts in on top of other things and use the practice like writing in my journal, but don’t always have time to start up new conversations in the comments or use blogging as a way to make new friends. I just don’t want you to be offended or to think I don’t read your comments — just because I’m silent doesn’t mean I’m not there.
Best,
Nicky.

I am so grateful to have found you, and I wouldn’t have done so if you hadn’t linked to “The Comfort Movie” on my website.
Thank you so much for doing that.
The header on your blog looks very familiar to me…I’d live to know where it is…looks like Melbourne…a place I know very well.
I now live in beautiful Foster in Victoria.
I really like what you are doing here.
You have created something that makes a benefit out of a condition that tends to make many people withdraw…congratulations!
Hey, I notice you like funny animal pics…you might enjoy this feel-good mini-movie too, at http://www.grateful-chain.com/?p=62
Thanks for adding value to the world!

thank you, elizabeth.
i watched the video: lovely.
i am sort of ’saving’ the pleasure of watching your videos, for times when i might need cheering up! a wonderful female friend sent me the link to your Comfort Movie a while back, and I really enjoyed it.
what *I* am doing here is as nothing compared to YOUR contribution to the web – and that makes your compliment even more meaningful. Thank you again.
